Westfield NJ Voting Guide 2026: Polling Places & Hours

Election Day in Westfield, NJ is Tuesday, November 3, 2026. Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Vote at your assigned polling place, or return your completed mail ballot to a Union County ballot drop box by 8 p.m. Westfield’s box is at the Fraser Building, 300 North Avenue East.
Before heading out, take a minute to find your assigned polling place using New Jersey’s official address lookup. Your location depends on your ward and election district, so the closest school or the place you used for early voting may not be your Election Day location.
This guide covers the November 3, 2026 general election. Information checked November 2 against the Town of Westfield, Union County Board of Elections and New Jersey Division of Elections. Check the official lookup for your assignment and any last-minute changes.
What time do Westfield polls open and close?
Westfield polling places are open 6 a.m.–8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 3. If you are in line at 8 p.m., you have the right to vote. Stay in line and follow the poll workers’ instructions. That protection is included in New Jersey’s 2026 Voter’s Bill of Rights.
Early voting has ended. The 2026 early-voting period ran October 24–November 1. There is no regular early-voting session on Monday, November 2.

Where is Westfield’s ballot drop box?
The secure ballot drop box is at the Fraser Building, 300 North Avenue East, Westfield. The deadline is 8 p.m. on November 3, 2026. Union County lists it on its official ballot drop-box page. Use the marked election ballot box, not a municipal tax-payment box or another building’s mail slot.
Before returning your ballot, follow the instructions for marking it, signing the certificate and sealing the envelopes. New Jersey lists three ways to return a mail ballot:
- Secure drop box: use any Union County election ballot drop box by 8 p.m. on November 3.
- Board of Elections: deliver it to the county Board of Elections, 271 North Broad Street, Elizabeth, by 8 p.m. on November 3.
- U.S. mail: it must be postmarked on or before 8 p.m. on November 3 and received by the Board of Elections by November 9. Near the deadline, the state advises asking a USPS counter clerk to apply a manual postmark.
You cannot return a mail ballot to an Election Day polling place. If you still need to request a mail ballot in person, the County Clerk application deadline is 3 p.m. on Monday, November 2. That application deadline is separate from the ballot-return deadline.
Where can I see the Westfield sample ballot?
Open the official November 3, 2026 Westfield sample ballot (PDF). The County Clerk’s sample-ballot directory identifies this version for all Westfield wards.
The ballot lists contests for U.S. Senate, U.S. House of Representatives in the 7th Congressional District, Union County Sheriff, County Clerk and three County Commissioner seats. Read the “vote for” instruction for each contest. A sample ballot helps you prepare; it is not a ballot you can complete and submit as your vote.
Common Westfield voting questions
Do I need photo ID to vote in New Jersey?
New Jersey does not have a blanket photo-ID requirement for every voter. Some voters whose registration requires identification must provide it, including certain first-time voters whose information was not verified. The official ID requirements explain accepted documents, including qualifying non-photo documents. If identification is required and you do not have it, ask a poll worker about a provisional ballot and the deadline for supplying identification.
Can I vote if I requested a mail ballot but never returned it?
Yes. A registered voter marked as having requested a mail ballot can vote by provisional paper ballot at their assigned polling place if they did not receive or did not return that ballot. Tell the poll worker what happened. Complete and sign the affirmation as instructed; election officials verify eligibility before counting it. See the state’s provisional-ballot guidance.
If you already voted early or returned a mail ballot, do not vote again. Use the ballot tracker or call the Board of Elections if you are unsure about its status.
What if I moved, my name is missing or I need assistance?
Ask a poll worker for help before leaving. The state’s provisional-ballot rules address registered voters who moved within the county without updating their address and voters with incomplete poll-book records. Eligibility depends on your circumstances; the Board of Elections can help resolve an assignment or registration question.
Voters who need help because of a disability or difficulty reading can request assistance. New Jersey’s voter rights and accessibility resources explain accessible voting and assistance options. You can also call the statewide voter hotline listed below.
How do I track my ballot and find election results?
Use New Jersey’s Track My Ballot instructions to sign into or create a My Voter Record account. County updates are not instantaneous. “Received” means the county has the ballot; “Accepted” means it has been counted. Contact the Board of Elections about a missing update or a rejection notice.
For results when they are posted, use the Union County Clerk’s election-results page. Election-night totals are unofficial and can change as eligible mail and provisional ballots are counted. The county’s 2026 counting and certification calendar extends beyond Election Day, so the first totals are not the final certified result.
